Well, let’s first start at the very beginning…What is the credentialing process?
It is a lengthy detailed process that reviews clinicians’ qualifications and career history including their education,
training, residency and licenses/certificates. The goal is to become in-network and contracted with various insurance companies so that YES, if eligible, you will be able to accept insurance at your private or group practice. We prepare and gather your documents for the credentialing process and complete all of the required enrollment forms efficiently while following up with insurance representatives throughout the process to ensure accuracy. The process can take anywhere from 90 to 120 days or more. Time frames vary depending on your credentialing status and the insurance company. For example, let’s say you are currently an independent contractor for a group and you decided to start your own practice. If you currently accept insurance for that group, you may be able to be “linked” to your new practice. If you are eligible, linking can take up to a week to 30 days sometimes.
